This study investigates relations of the physical feature of human voice and his depressive status. Authors select High Depressive 15 Ss and Low Depressive 15 Ss using BDI(Beck Depression Inventory). Ss read 14 sentences, 12 of BDI items and 2 of non-depressive sentences. Extracted parameters are 1 on reaction time, 4 on amplitudes, 4 on fundamental frequency and 2 on speech rate. The voice data are analyzed with t-test, regression analysis and C4.5. We found the important speech parameters which indicate depressive status, that is, max amplitude and speech rate.
