The US Department of the Interior will launch an environmental review of the first proposed offshore wind project along Maryland’s coast, the 10th review since President Joe Biden took office, the agency said June 6. The department’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management will put together an environmental impact statement for US Wind’s construction and operations plan for the proposed project, which is expected to have total capacity of between 1.1 GW and 2 GW, according to an Interior release.
