PJM Interconnection wholesale power prices increased nearly 50% inApril on month, largely driven by higher natural gas prices that haverisen by 187% since last year, which are also pushing up forward powerand gas prices.Spot Texas Eastern natural gas prices averaged $6.07/MMBtu inApril, up about 36% from the March average of $4.46/MMBtu and 187%higher than the April 2021 average of $2.11/MMBtu, according to S&PGlobal Platts data.
