摘要

Young investigators in developingcountries face a number of problemsthat limit their opportunity to participate in cutting edge science. Theyoften have to work with outdated technology, and lack exposure to state-ofthe-art techniques. They have very fewavenues to develop collaborations withleading scientists and laboratories.Language, too, can be a barrier. Allthese problems were considered whenthe International Brain ResearchOrganization (IBRO) [1] designed itsnewly initiated Young InvestigatorProgram (YIP) [2].
