Panasonic Corp. has released two new LUMIX digital compact camera models, the DMC-TS1 and DMC-ZS3, both featuring AVCHD Lite high-definition video recording capability, and each highlighting distinctive styles in image and design.The integration of the AVCHD Lite to these two models doubles the recording speed of HD videos compared with recording moving images in the Motion MPEG format. This function also allows longer recording HD video and audio in high quality.Designed for users with active lifestyle, LUMIX DMC-TS1 is waterproof to a depth of 3m, is shockproof from falls of up to 1.5m, and is dust-proof, featuring compliance to IEC60529 IP5X. With the rubber padding, reinforced glass and carbon resins inside the camera, the TS1 suits an airtight body protected against water immersion, dust and sand.
