Hydro recently reported record results for its Extrusions division in Q2 2021. Sales volumes amounted to 342,000 tonnes, up more than 50% on the prioryear period. Adjusted Ebitda nearly tripled to NOK1,830 million. The results were driven by strong volume growth, improved margins and continued cost savings. The quarter saw sustained momentum in the automotive business in Europe and solid growth in the industrial segment and residential building and construction. To further improve performance in Extrusions, decisions have been made to invest in new extrusion press capacity in Cressona, US, and Nenzing, Austria. The investments will increase capacity by around 30,000 tonnes.
