Transparent polymers are regarded as good host materials to hold the dye molecules presumably in well-dispersed manner, providing a homogeneous gain medium with the established index-of-refraction. Exploiting a cylindrical or disk cavity of this structure, multiple sharp emission spectra were reported to be observed upon photoexcitation with pulse lasers. From the viewpoint of application, single sharp emission line is preferable which was reported only in the case of planar film structures. In the present study, single or smaller number of sharp-emission lines are pursued using a presumably self-organized dye-doped film, due to a capillary force at the specimen solution surface, of small volume around an optical fiber.
