Private-sector Independent Oil and Gas (NNK) plans to open a 5mn t/yr crude terminal at the mouth of the Yenisei river in 2016. The new outlet will handle crude exports from NNK’s Payakhskoye and Severo-Payakhskoye fields in Krasnoyarsk territory. Oil from the fields will be shipped through the terminal and on along the Northern Sea Route through Russia’s Arctic waters. “It is extremely expensive to build a railway or a pipeline here,” a source familiar with the situation says.
