Gazpromneft gears up for Novoportovskoye seaborne exports Production on the Novop

Gazpromneft plans to start seaborne crude exports from its Novoportovskoye field on the Yamal peninsula this summer. It will use a temporary loading scheme at Cape Kamenny ahead of the launch in 2016 of a 5.5mn-6mn t/yr terminal that is currently under construction.The firm initially hoped to start seaborne exports from the field in summer last year. Gazpromneft shipped the first 10,000t of crude from Novo-portovskoye in winter 2012-13 using ice roads.The oil headed 200km by truck to Payuta station for delivery by rail to the Usinsk refinery in the Komi republic.Deliveries became impos-sible in April,when the ice started melting.This year’s colder spring weather meant truck and rail deliveries continued throughout this month.Gazpromneft has not disclosed how much it shipped by truck and rail,although it was aiming for up to 20,000t.This year,crude has headed by rail to the Volk-hovneftekhim mini-refinery in Leningrad region.
