Primorsk accident closes berth

One of the four crude loading berths at Russia’s Baltic port of Primorsk will be out of action for about a year after a tanker collision. Berth 1 was taken out of service after the Greek-flagged Delta Pioneer collided with it on 20 November. Crude is now being delivered to berths 3 and 4, although there are no plans to divert flows to other ports, pipeline operator Transneft says. Companies exporting crude from Primorsk do not expect any problems as a result of the closure of berth 1.
