Russian naphtha exports rose by 2.2pc on the year in Janu- ary-March to 6.04mn t, driven by higher crude runs and output at a number of refineries. Naphtha production hit 6.94mn t, up from 6.16mn t in January-March 2015, accord- ing to the energy ministry. Novatek, which produces naphtha at its condensate split- ter in Ust-Luga, led the rise, exporting 1.25mn t in January- March, up by 22.2pc on the same period of 2015. But rail supplies to Ust-Luga fell to 1.06mn t from 1.22mn t in Janu- ary-March 2015. Lukoil stopped shipping naphtha from its 290,000 b/d Perm and 365,000 b/d Nizhny Novgorod refin- eries to the port in April last year, diverting all output to its Vysotsk terminal. Gazprom's Astrakhan gas processing plant, and Neftekhimservice's 60,000 b/d Yaisky refinery shipped nothing to the port in the first quarter.
