Kashagan CPC doubts

Crude from Kazakhstan’s 13bn bl offshore Kashagan field is scheduled to start flowing through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) system next month, but the country’s energy minister has cast doubt on whether loadings will go ahead as planned. Next month’s CPC Blend schedule includes 83,500t of Kashagan crude from project partners Italy’s Eni, Shell and ExxonMobil. Based on Kashagan CPC flows, Eni subsidiary Agip Caspian Sea is expected to add 7,000t to a Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) cargo loading on 23-24 October, while Shell will add 25,000t to a larger KPO shipment on 29-30 October. ExxonMobil is due to load 51,500t as part of a 145,050t cargo on 30-31 October.
