Demand for 10ppm sulphur diesel in Turkey, a key market for rising exports from Novorossiysk, grew by 6.1pc to 15.6mn t last year. And diesel imports seem poised to keep growing, even as new domestic capacity comes on line. Diesel accounted for 85.8pc of motor fuel sales in Turkey last year, according to the country's energy regu- lator, while gasoline sales slumped by 5.8pc to 1.9mn t. Diesel sales rose by 6pc in 2011. Turkey's only refiner, Tupras, expects diesel demand to reach 18mn t/yr by 2020.
