Schlumberger plans seismic survey off mexico

Mexico’s oil regulator CNH has approved a plan by international oil services company Schlumberger to carry out an extensive seismic survey in the deepwater Perdido fold belt, a high-potential area where acreage will be offered around the turn of the year. Schlumberger will cover 37,200km2 over 31 months. Mexico plans to offer exploration contracts for 11 blocks in the Perdido area, ranging from 224km2 to 409km2 in size, with total prospective reserves estimated at 1.59bn bl of oil equivalent. The offer is part of Mexico’s staggered frst licensing round.
