Basrah goes west

Continued tightness for Alaska North Slope (ANS) crude has opened up a clear arbitrage for Iraqi Basrah Light to the US west coast,despite high freight (see upper graph).At least three VLCCs of Basrah Light are expected to arrive in the region in November,but loading delays are expected to push back arrival dates.
