High prices cap demand

Crude prices changed little over the week, but concerns are mounting that persistent high oil prices will damage economic recovery and, in turn, oil demand growth. Atlantic basin marker North Sea Dated dipped to a three-month low of $109.37/bl on 17 May, before bouncing back to $113/bl two days later, a rise of 10￠/bl from a week earlier. US benchmark June WTI fell by 53￠/bl over the week to $98.44/bl on 19 May.
