Prices rise despite higher runs

Clean product prices strengthened despite higher refinery runs. Refinery utilisation in the US rose above 90pc for the first time since January 2008. Summer demand kept gasoline values firm amid rising supply, while Latin American buying buoyed middle distillates. But high vacuum gasoil (VGO) supplies pressured prices, while low-sulphur fuel oil values fell despite a surge in demand.
