Opec kept production steady in August, amid uncertainty over the global economy. Output by the 11 members excluding Iraq was 27mn b/d in August, up by just 10,000 b/d compared with July (see table). A fall in Nigerian production because of pipeline damage was offset by higher Angolan output. Total Opec production eased by around 50,000 b/d to 29.31mn b/d, as pipeline sabotage in Iraq curtailed Kirkuk output.
