Chinese state-run oil firms are adding more sophisticated secondary units at refineries, to meet rising demand amid an increasingly diverse crude slate. China's refiners plan to add 105,000 b/d to hydrocracking capacity this year, after building nearly 80,000 b/d last year. Distillate hydrotreating capacity will rise by nearly 230,000 b/d this year, on top of additions of 155,000 b/d last year.
