Refiners tackle gasoline shortfalls

Chinese refiners have increased runs,and gasoline imports have risen as suppliers look to cover shortfalls in the domestic motor fuel market.Refinery runs were 6.43mn b/d in August,government data show(see table).This is level with July runs,but 70,000 b/d higher than scheduled throughputs(AGM,20 August,p2).September runs are set to rise by another 100,000 b/d.Runs recovered in response to calls from China's state economic policy body NDRC to increase supplies.
