Sellers of light Mideast Gulf grades will face greater competition in Asia-Pacific after the start of crude exports from the Sakhalin I project in August.Exports of Sokol crude from Sakhalin I will rise to up to 250,000 b/d by the end of this year,with the start-up of an onshore processing facility at the De Kastri export terminal,says project consortium leader ExxonMobil.The Sakhalin I consortium has been producing 44,000 b/d of Sokol crude since October,but this is sold in Russia (AGM,10 October,p4).
