Steppe Vegetation in the Eastern Part of the Terskey Ala-TooMountain Ridge

The paper examines the anthropogenic dynamics of vegetation in the steppe belt of the eastern part of the Terskey Ala-Too Ridge, where different stages of pasture digression are distinguished.The steppe vegetation of the submountain areas and medium-mountain belt in Kirghizstan has been undergoing strong pasture digression in recent decades. This process particularly intensified near settlements after cattle passed into private use. Small cattle owners have turned from distant-pasture and migratory cattle raising to its primitive form, when distant high-mountain steppes and meadows remain unused.
