Product exports, including transit, along Russia’s inland waterways totalled 974,700t in April, the first month of the navigation season, up by 185,900t on April 2013 (see px). The rise reflects Rosneft’s decision to up deliveries from its Samara and Saratov refineries, as well as higher transit from Turkmenistan. Rosneft shipped 163,900t from the Samara region’s Kashpir, Syzran and Samara river terminals, up by 50pc on April 2013. Kashpir and Samara loaded fuel oil. Syzran, which loaded nothing in April 2013, mostly handled diesel last month. “We prepared for navigation in good time, beginning shipments a few days earlier this year,” a Rosneft spokesman says. Fuel oil, vacuum gasoil (VGO) and diesel supplies from the Saratov refinery hit 229,400t in April, up by 42,600t on the same month last year.
