The two main sections of the Kazakhstan-China Oil Pipeline are the 794km-long Kenkiyak-Kumkol route, which has a capacity of 10mn t/yr (200,000 b/d), and the 962km-long, Atasu-Alashankou section, which can handle up to 12mn t/yr (250,000 b/d) of crude. Both of these sections of the system are the property of the Kazakhstan-China Oil Pipeline Company. They are connected by the Kumkol-Atasu pipeline, which is owned by Kazakhstan’s state-controlled crude pipeline operator Kaztransoil (KTO).
