Caspian decline

Crude exports from Azerbaijan last month were down by 9.5pc compared with February, at 702,000 b/d (2.7mn t), reflecting lower production. Exports from the Turkish port of Ceyhan fell most sharply, while ship- ments from the Georgian Black Sea port of Supsa rose slightly. But Caspian BTC Blend exports to Asia-Pacific surged to a record high last month (see p13). And seaborne exports of light Caspian sour CPC Blend crude reached 1.1mn b/d in March, up by 3pc from the previous month, despite a three-day maintenance- related loading gap on 19-21 March.
