Baltic supplies to Netherlands slump

Gasoil and diesel deliveries to the Netherlands from Baltic ports fell sharply in the first quarter, while exports to Ger- many and the UK surged. The Netherlands received 1.62mn t in the first quarter, down from 2.61mn t in January-March last year. Its position as the largest importer of Baltic-loading cargoes was taken by Germany, with imports of 1.88mn t, up by 82pc compared with the first quarter of 2015. The UK became the second- largest importer, receiving 1.74mn t, up by 50pc, while exports to France rose by 3.7pc to 1.5mn t.
