Transneft has since 1 October only been accepting 10ppm sulphur diesel into its product pipelines — with more of the grade likely to emerge at the Latvian port of Ventspils and the Russian Black Sea ports of Novorossiysk and Tuapse as a result. This follows the start of 10ppm output at two of Rosneft’s Samara refin- eries, the 190,000 b/d Novokuibyshev and 140,000 b/d Kuibyshev plants. These were the last two plants still put- ting 50ppm product into the system. The 200,000 b/d Syzran refinery — the third Samara plant — began producing 10ppm in the second quarter. Transneft says it will take 2-3 months to clear the remaining 50ppm from the system.
