Lighter Gullfaks bucks North Sea trend

Norwegian Gullfaks crude is improving in quality,despite being a mature stream.Adding production from new North Sea oil fields to an existing grade has often meant a deterioration in the quality of the resulting crude.But Gullfaks is bucking the trend.The grade,which started up offshore Norway in 1986,is becoming lighter because of the incorporation of crude from two smaller deposits in the stream.
