Refinery upgrades boost sour crude imports

India's high-sulphur crude imports are rising as refiners increase upgrading capacity.Sour crude imports,mainly from the Mideast Gulf,could rise by 110,000 b/d by early next year,as independent refiner Essar's Vadinar plant reaches full capacity.Vadinar started up in November at 156,000 b/d.The refinery is not expected to reach 220,000 b/d capacity until the end of this year because some secondary units have not been completed on schedule.
