Kazakhs join Caspian crude export rush

Kazakh crude sales could begin through the Baku-Tbil-isi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline and a new line to China this year,contributing to a surge in Caspian crude exports.Caspian crude exports are likely to rise to 1.66mn b/d by the end of this year,up from 1.29mn b/d in 2005,following the signing of an intergovernmental agreement between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan that paves the way for shipments of Kazakh crude along the BTC line.
