ABM - A global, multispeciality organization

Welcome to the first President's Corner for 2014. It is a great honor to be greeting you as President of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM) from Australia. I have just returned from the ABM Annual Meeting held this year in Philadelphia, PA. It was wonderful to see so many people there-the largest conference yet, with over 300 participants. It was a very multicultural conference with participants from Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Thailand, Slovenia, South Africa, and the United States. We listened to many wonderful speakers with a diversity of interests reflecting our multispecialty foundations and participated in a variety of workshops, often dealing with real-life situations encountered in our day-to-day practice.
