US refiners return to the market

The seasonal upswing in US demand for light sweet crude has led to large volumes of Algerian Saharan Blend moving to the US Gulf for July.The strengthening of US rival light sweet LLS and WTI's relatively wide premium to dated BFO have encouraged traders to move 1mn-2mn bl cargoes of Saharan Blend,as high prices fail to dampen demand (see upper graph).
