Demand slows as price hikes take their toll

Indonesian product demand has fallen sharply this year after hefty fuel price hikes in October 2005.Indonesia raised prices of gasoline,gasoil and kerosine last year in a bid to contain a rising oil import bill.Gasoline prices rose by 88pc,gasoil by 105pc and kerosine - which is used by the poor for cooking - rose by 186pc.
