US market regulator the CFTC will lose a commissioner who helped redefine its role when Sharon Brown-Hruska resigns on 28 July.Brown-Hruska acted as CFTC chairman for a year,until Reuben Jeffrey took over in July 2005.She said at the time:"We will use our resources most efficiently to ensure that our enforcement against fraud and manipulation is swift and painful to violators."She explained that the CFTC's jurisdiction has always "included not only futures prices,but any and all commodity prices".
