Eastern route fades for west Africa

Opportunities to take west African grades east are fading.Prices for Asia-Pacific grades have slipped to the point where they are far more attractive to local buyers.The premium for light sweet regional benchmark Tapis to west African grades has narrowed dramatically in the past few months (see upper graph).
