PdV receives bid for Argentina assets

A private-sector Argentinian firm has made a bid to buy Venezuelan state-owned PdV's loss-making fuel distribution unit. Holding company GMM on 20 May made an unsolicited, non-binding bid to either buy or manage PdV's 94.4pc-owned Petrolera del Conosur subsidiary. GMM suggested either taking over the management of the company for 12 months with the option to buy, or directly purchasing PdV's stake within 30 days. “In each case, the bidders propose to begin conversations and negotiations,” Petrolera del Conosur says.
