Liquids from the logistics-constrained Eagle Ford shaleformation have been moving to refineries by a combina-tion of truck, pipeline, barge and rail.The mishmash of transport options looks likely to con-tinue, although more pipeline capacity is due to go intoservice this year. Oil produced in the area moves mainly bytruck and pipeline to Valero’s nearby 95,000 b/d ThreeRivers refinery and the refining centre at Corpus Christi,both in Texas. Some supply is making its way to Houstonand Texas City, further northeast in Texas, and to St James,Louisiana, as producers search for higher profits fromhaving additional buyers as their output rises.
