Strong demand from Mediterranean refineries kept most light sweet BTC Blend cargoes in Europe in July. Roughly 640,000 b/d of BTC Blend loaded from the Turkish port of Ceyhan in July. Mediterranean refiners took at least 560,000 b/d of the loadings. The drop in long-haul BTC Blend exports was a fairly steep 200,000 b/d compared with June shipments. Just 30,000 b/d went outside Europe, as Azeri marketer Socar sold a 1mn bl cargo to Indonesia. No cargoes were shipped to the Ameri- cas for the first time since February 2010 (see graph).
