Saudi Arabia optimistic about global oil market

Saudi Arabian oil minister Ali Naimi is "optimistic about the global oil market during this year and the coming years". Naimi says he expects "price stability to continue at last year's rates", without referring to benchmark crude markets rising above $90/bl. Naimi expects global economic growth that began in 2010 to continue this year at a rate of above 4pc, "before accelerating gradually in the following years". Growth in emerging economies such as China, India and Brazil could be as high as 8pc this year, while the more mature economies of the industrialised countries can be expected to grow at 2.5pc in 2011, Naimi says.
