IEA trims demand growth estimate

The IEA has lowered its oil demand growth forecast for this year, amid con- cerns that high oil prices could threaten the global economic recovery. Demand growth for 2011 is revised down by 10,000 b/d from the previous Oil Market Report (OMR) to 1.44mn b/d, although this does not take into account expected higher crude and products demand in post-earthquake Japan.
