Resetting Dated

New North Sea Dated benchmarking proposals are circulating, as field maintenance cuts Forties supply. The price of North Sea Dated, or Platts equivalent Dated Brent, is derived from the lowest of a basket of crudes including Brent, Forties, Oseberg and Ekofisk (BFOE). Forties almost always sets North Sea Dated, which acts as a benchmark for crude globally. But only 16 cargoes of Forties are due to load in August, the lowest since February 2005. And no cargoes are scheduled to load in the first nine days of August.
