摘要

US west coast refiners may be forced limit their crude imports to grades with a lower carbon footprint under legislation to be enforced in the state of California. The California Air Resources Board (Carb) is classifying more than 250 types of crude according to carbon intensity. All of the grades being classified have been run in the state's refineries in the past. The classification will be used to screen crudes under California's Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS), as the state tries to reduce its CO2 emissions.
