Key View: We have revised upwards our forecast CAGR in weighted local currency terms and project that Latin America's medical device market will grow at a 2021-2026 CAGR of 9.2%, lower than the 2016-2021 CAGR of 9.9%. This maintains Latin America's status as the fastest growing region globally. The 2021-2026 CAGR will reflect policy uncertainties; a deceleration in economic growth due to high inflation and weaker external demand; the effects of the increasing US focus on trade and foreign policy; migration challenges; slower demographic growth; efforts to raise health expenditure; the growth of public healthcare sectors; slower medical device import growth; domestic medical device production geared towards the internal market, with the exception of Mexico; and increasing medical device market competition.
