Crude breaks above $80/bl

Crude futures on both sides of the Atlantic broke above S80/bl, but a sell-off on 7 October undid much of the rally, when oil followed other commodities such as gold and copper lower in response to a stronger US dollar. Products were boosted by an unseasonably strong gasoline market and low refinery runs.
