Slowdown fears pressure prices

US benchmark WTI fell by $6.27/bl to $75.74/bl in the week to 12 August, while Atlantic basin marker North Sea Dated was $5.62/bl lower at $76.68/bl. China's oil demand dipped in July, according to official data showing a fall in crude imports from June's record high. This first year-on-year decline in Chinese crude imports since March 2009 fuelled speculation about slower economic growth. China's spot purchases of west African crude for September also dropped to their lowest levels since March last vear.
