Prices tumble on economic concerns

Crude prices fell below $80/bl - wiping out the gains of the previous week. Concerns about the strength of the US and Chinese economies weighed on prices. The front-month Nymex WTI contract touched an intra-day high of $82.67/bl on 8 August but fell to an intra-day low of $75.52/bl on 12 August.
