North Sea crude and condensate production fell by nearly 300,000 b/d in 2009, and a drop in investment could further hasten the province's decline.North Sea crude and condensate output fell to 3.53mn b/d last year from 3.83mn b/d in 2008 {see table). Norwegian production fell below 2mn b/d for the first time since 1991 in the second quarter, after rising slightly in the first quarter. And the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) forecasts that production will fall to around 1.87mn b/d this year.
