North Sea fall underpins prices

Field maintenance in the North Sea has led to a 400,000-450,000 b/d drop in production. The August-loading programme contains just 20 Forties cargoes, equivalent to nearly 390,000 b/d, far lower than the 560,000 b/d scheduled for July, as the lower production led some Forties stakeholders to keep back their monthly allocations. Bids for August cargoes have surged as a result.
