摘要

The dependability/reliability features of automated teller machine system (ATM) are investigated in this study. Teller machines A and teller machines B are known to be subsystem A and subsystem B respectively, and are located at two different places connected to different servers. The ATM system is associated with partial and complete failures. Exponential failure and repair are available for both ATM subsystems. Using regenerative point techniques, the system of first-order differential equations associated with transition diagram is formulated and resolved using Laplace transforms. Failure times are believed to follow exponential distribution, while the repair time follows the distribution of Gumbel–Hougaard family copula. Different reliability characteristics have been tested, such as availability of the system, system reliability, MTTF, MTTF sensitivity and cost function for different parametric values. Several cases are analyzed to see the effect of the model under consideration. Tables and graphs are used to display computed results. The study yields important findings for the banking sector’s growth.
