Europe is importing large volumes of ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD) in November and early December to meet tighter specifications in 2009. Many countries, including Germany and the UK, have switched to lOppm diesel, but France, Italy and Spain still sell 50ppm diesel. The lOppm sulphur limit goes into effect across the EU from January.
